Heart Warming & Eye Opening StoriestI enjoyed this book as it reveals the stories behind the stars. It is suprisingly inspirational. This wonderful book prompted me to read Barbara Barrie's equally wonderful book, Second Act about her bout with colon cancer. Both Books givew great insight into life. Fame, beauty and Stardom matters not. One does not feel alone after reading these two wonderful books. One never knows what waits.

A Rancid Little Christmas
Published in Paperback by Simon Spotlight (01 October, 2000)
Average review score:

AN INSTANT CATDOG CLASSIC!Clever, engaging, and worthy of being animated and turned into a seasonal episode of the series, this is one of the better NICKELODEON juvenile novels and a superior treatment of the tricky characters from the CatDog universe. Fast paced and laugh out loud funny for kids (and adults), this surreal treatment of Rancid Rabbit's attempt to muscle out Santa Claus AND the Easter Bunny is not to be missed. Highest Recommendation!

Reach for the Sky

Inspiring book that makes one develop define and accomplish!Moving from the south and being new to the Seattle area, this book has inspired me to climb Mt. Ranier this summer. I have had no real "climbing" experience but Pat has inspired me to look beyond work and establish new goals and live life to the fullest. If you have read "Into Thin Air" this is a must read. If you have ever been a workaholic this is a must! It truly makes you look beyond your current horizons.

Reptiles and Amphibians of Britain & Europe (Collins Field Guide)
Published in Hardcover by HarperResource (January, 2000)
Average review score:

An excellent guide to the reptiles of EuropeI am a soldier in the U.S. Army stationed in Kosovo for 6 months. I bought this book to try and identify any reptiles that I might encounter while serving my tour. I could not have made a better choice. The book covers all of Europe west of the Ural Mountains (including Ireland). It lists all amphibians and reptiles withing that range. The keys are very well written, and the corresponding line drawings are exellent. The book also covers many of the variations that occur withing the European lizards. I would recomend this book for the above reasons, over any book that only covers western Europe/Britain because this book also covers easter Europe, which is becoming more and more open to the west every year. This book could be a very big help to any herpetologist who is planing on travel anywhere in Europe, especially on the identification of the lacertids.

Riding the Wild Side of Denali: Alaska Adventures With Horses and Huskies
Published in Paperback by Epicenter Press (June, 1998)
Average review score:

Alaska wild and pure!I read Miki Collins' Riding the Wild Side of Denali in one sitting on a cold November Yukon morning and dreamt about it for many days to follow. If you'd like to taste real adventure and feel the cold crispness of life on the Alaskan trail, grab this one! Here, Miki relates the empassioned tales, sometimes hair-raising, sometimes hilarious, that she shares with her twin sister Julie as they embark on their wildest dream (or folly!!), yet : that of utilizing Icelandic Fjord Horses on their remote trapline at the base of Mt. Denali, AK. If you'd like to find out what it takes to convince a bush pilot to fly a horse that would like to join him in the cockpit of his small plane, or want to read true tales of a modern day trapline, ran by two women, huskies and Icelandic Fjord horses, this is the book for you. Humour, respect for the animals, images of human determination and the natural beauty of the alaskan wilderness are the gifts Miki Collins will leave you with. Whether you are a wilderness, adventure or horse lover or dream of the North as the last frontier, you'll love it. It would also make a great gift for teenage girls: the Collins are true models of women becoming all they can be.

Robert Collins Super Senior French to English and English to French Dictionary. 2 Volumes
Published in Hardcover by French & European Pubns (01 October, 1995)
Average review score:

For the professional or fanatic amateurVery thorough, especially with idioms.
So far I've only come across one French "word" that I found in the Grand Robert but not in here: "véronal". And to call that a word is something like calling "kleenex" in English a word.
It costs something, but if you're serious, it will be well worth it: it will save you lots of time.

Rogue's Life: From His Birth to His Marriage, The; Little Novels: Miss Dulane and My Lord, Mr. Policeman and the Cook (The Works of Wilkie Collins - Volume 30)
Published in Library Binding by Classic Books (January, 1900)
Average review score:

One of the funniest books I've readWilkie Collins was known for romance, gothic, and ghost stories, not for comedy. I have no idea why not. Some of the descriptions in his books are funny enough to make you cry. This book is pure humor from start to finish. You love the Rogue. He has such irrepressible good humor in the face of every tragedy, you're bound to take his side in adventures. Even if those adventures include forgery, burglary, and conterfeiting.
The story of five acresses & their struggle for one star part. Joan Collins' novel is a glimpse at the lives of ambitious young women and their hunger for success.
Set against a background of great wealth, luxurious homes, yachts etc.
An enjoyable book. A non-stop page-turner.
